Hometopia is a satisfying co-op building simulation game that turns players into designers and developers of the best-looking homes in the virtual world. You can check out the game here!

Collaborated with the Hometopia Inc. team in Everyrealm on a home building simulation PC game. Responsible for optimizing high to low-poly models, hard-surface modeling, utilizing PBR material workflow for texturing game-ready environmental assets for real-time rendering. Designed NPC characters, and developed 2D visual concepts, leading art direction for the game's upcoming marketing visuals and contributing to the enhancement of the product's brand imagery.

HOMETOPIA SHOWCASE

From large estates, to glass libraries, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and more, you can create your dream home within Hometopia!

Materials can be applied freely to any items, the flexibility in customization being pushed to the max for our players, in order to further immerse them into a world where almost anything can be designed.

TASKS BEHIND THE SCENES

Environmental assets are made within Blender, ZBrush, Maya Autodesk, and Substance Painter.

The implementation of the assets and its materials are applied through Unity, and their prefabs include custom collisions that follow specific dimensions per asset. This allows each item to be snapped closely to the grid, if players also prefer a different type of item placement system.

HOMETOPIA MINIATURE

Digital environmental assets of physical house model are made within Blender, Maya Autodesk, and Rhinoceros 3D. Using the house layout as reference for measurements, indoor props were modelled for flexible creative input.

This fun project was a collaboration between the art team and outsourcers, to produce a miniature representation of the game’s home simulation genre.
